Y'Bathar is a member of the N'Ptalini Pantheon, revered as the Goddess of Creation and Nurture. She represents the impartial, generous yet merciless Mother Ocean and is rarely depicted as a person.
Goddes of Creation, Nurture and Balance[]
Y'Bathar is the Sea Mother, embodying the endless generosity and cruelty of nature. She gives, but also takes away again, leaving a narrow margin for her people to live in. She is generally considered a highly benevolent deity, but also far removed from the quarrels of mere mortals. To us, her blessings are truly a gift, and we must not rely on them to remain.
She does not interfere with the disputes among her warring sons, the luminous Cor'Garun and the chthonic Nach'Tarr.
Iconography[]
- rarely depicted as a person
- if not abstract, then as the sea or as a huge maritime animal, like a boginsano or a whale
- the iquasini, small marine vertebrae native to Geshi N'Ptah, are considered sacred to Y'Bathar, as their swarms follow large marine animals and live in symbiosis with them.
Dedicated Holidays[]
- On July 30th, her followers observe F'oariagi, the day she taught them to speak and walk upright. It is a day for families to gather and celebrate their good fortune.
