Bernardo Maria Armadillo Almaviva was a human noble of House Almaviva. He was the last contestant of his house for the title of Virasana Emperor at the end of the Age of Many Emperors. As a token of respect, Emperor Gregorius Quetzal insisted on him to be counted as a Virasana Emperor proper, even though in the end he reliquished his claim in his favour.
Among many other things, he is remembered as one of the most handsome men of all time and being the first modern Lotus Knight to receive the Voice of the Emperor.

- Considered the epitome of an Almaviva Lucheador
- Has become something of a secular patron saint of all lovers and dreamers. His birthday on April 24th has become an empire-wide holiday (Dia del Bernardo).
- There is a statue of him in the Agami quarter Opera, called Bernardo Enamorado, depicting him in dramatic gesture, that has become a pilgrimage site particularly for young people looking for love.
